MAIN FEATURES OF OUR MOTH RIDDANCE PROGRAM

USING MULTIPLE METHODS

We use long lasting professional preparations to identify hiding spots and ensure methods used provide full termination coverage. Careful consideration is taken to ensure that this is done
effectively throughout the treatment.

USING PROFESSIONAL GRADE TRAPS

Professional grade moth traps are at least TWICE as potent. These are different to consumer grade variants. When used effectively they provide an effective treatment against moth activity.

INSPECTING AND MONITORING THOROUGHLY

Inspecting and monitoring the premises is very important as we zone in on activity. Monitoring the consumption of insecticides and ensuring the treatments stay effective means your problem is solved quicker.

Q: BEST CONTROL METHOD?

All treatments have their benefits. Surface and Aerosol sprays have a long residual effect and continue to work long after they're applied. Heat treatments can provide a quick knockdown of all activity in the premises. All methods have pros and cons so a tailored approach is always best.

Q: HOW LONG DO THEY LIVE?

The lifecycle lasts for about 65-90 days, with the female adult moths living for about 30 days and potentially laying up to 300 eggs. The larvae that hatch from the eggs do the damage, as the adult moths themselves, known as 'millers', pose no threat to your knitwear.

Q: FIRST SIGNS OF ACTIVITY?

Unfortunately the first signs of an infestation is seeing holes in clothing that haven't been worn in a while; this is also the case for carpets in areas not frequented often. Sightings will also be a regular occurence as these beetles breed in darker areas and are attracted to lighting such as bulbs.

Q: HOW QUICKLY DO THEY BREED?

Generally, adult female moths emerge from cocoons, mate, and lay around 50 eggs. All of this happens in a period of 4-7 days. The eggs then hatch 4-10 days later. So, in about two weeks, an entire generation of moths can be causing new destruction.

Q: COST TO GET PEST CONTROL?

Costs vary with the main factors being whether a fumigation, misting, fogging, spraying or heat treatment is best to provide long term results.

Q: HOW TO PREVENT THEM?

The absolute best prevention method against moths are to keep all windows closed ALL the time! Another good method is to install insect screens on all windows and doors that will be open even a crack.
